A 24-year-old woman was in custody Saturday after being linked to two separate crashes that killed three people in Long Beach, according to police.<\/p>\n
Detectives identified Long Beach resident Ahkeyajahnique Owens as the suspected driver in two separate fatal crashes just months apart.<\/p>\n
The first collision on Oct. 6, 2025, police located an unconscious 35-year-old bicyclist near East 4th Street and Bonito Avenue. The bicyclist, identified as Long Beach resident Raul Augustin Gallopa, was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n
The second crash was reported as a hit-and-run on Jan. 4, 2026, along Atlantic Avenue and East 6th Street. Long Beach police said two motorists, a man and a woman, were killed and three others were injured.<\/p>\n
Investigators were able to use forensic evidence and video footage to link the crashes to Owens, according to Long Beach PD.<\/p>\n
On Jan. 7, Ownens turned herself in at the Long Beach Police Department. She was booked at the Long Beach City Jail on a warrant for felony vehicular manslaughter related to the October 2025 traffic collision. Owens bail was set at $200,000.<\/p>\n
Detectives have presented the case linked to the Oct. 6 collision to the Los Angeles County District Attorney\u2019s Office, according to Long Beach police.<\/p>\n
