{"id":508370,"date":"2026-01-11T11:14:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T11:14:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/508370\/"},"modified":"2026-01-11T11:14:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T11:14:11","slug":"dallas-twins-shine-on-food-network-competition-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/508370\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas twins shine on Food Network competition show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Dallas has two new ambassadors for young baking talent making delicious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/topic\/baked-goods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/topic\/baked-goods\/\">cakes and pastries<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Identical twins and 8th graders Norah and Olivia Tatum are participating in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/shows\/baking-championship-next-gen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/shows\/baking-championship-next-gen\">Baking Championship: Next Gen<\/a>, a Food Network television show that premiered on Monday, Jan. 5. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cBeing on TV is like a dream come true,\u201d Olivia told The Dallas Morning News. \u201cWe always watch baking shows and think it would be fun to be there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The show brings together promising young bakers from across the country to compete, with a healthy dose of pressure. There are 12 teams of young siblings, aged 8 to 14, competing for a $25,000 prize. Contestants were expected to demonstrate technique, creativity and poise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The twins learned to bake from their mother, Stacie Tatum, a <a href=\"https:\/\/stacietatum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/stacietatum.com\/\">photographer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cBefore I had children, one of my big dreams was to bake cookies with them,\u201d Stacie said. \u201cSo we started when they were about 3 years old, maybe younger. We\u2019ve been making cookies and things like that forever, and it just evolved from there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Norah said her enjoyment of baking serves as a creative outlet that \u201ccalms me down and makes me happy.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Both girls, who live in the Lochwood neighborhood of Dallas, love macarons. Their dream is to have a Tudor-style house in the woods with a secret library. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m proud to be from Dallas,\u201d Norah said, \u201cand to represent Dallas on a TV show.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Olivia said: \u201cThere\u2019s a little bit of pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Win or lose, the Tatum twins remind us that big dreams, like the best recipes, often start at home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">You can watch Baking Championship: Next Gen on Food Network every Monday at 7 p.m. Central<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dallas has two new ambassadors for young baking talent making delicious cakes and pastries.
