But after many years at Milan, it is perhaps time to move on.

Barcelona, as well as other top clubs in Europe, are interested in attaining the services of Leao. But AC Milan will not make things easy.

AC Milan want €85 million for Leao

A recent report from Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t Wett Freunde) has offered a fresh update on the future of Rafael Leao, claiming that Milan are not too keen on offloading the Portuguese international.

This does make sense considering the fact that Leao has been a great servant for the club, having been involved in 132 goals in 260 competitive matches

Rafael Leao has become a hot topic for Barcelona yet again (Photo by Marco Rosi/Getty Images)

The report does add that Milan are expecting Barcelona or Bayern Munich to make a move for the player.

But the Rossoneri are not expected to budge unless any of the interested parties come up with an offer around €85 million.

This is quite the figure, especially as far as Barcelona are concerned, who are not even in a position to promise Leao a guaranteed registration before the start of the league season.

The Catalans, therefore, may have no option but to look at other alternatives. Luis Diaz, for one, is willing to join Barcelona without any strings attached.

However, Liverpool do not appear to be keen on parting ways with the Colombian international, though the investment in Florian Wirtz could force them to consider a sale.

Barcelona, therefore, must exercise patience as they look to continue their hunt for a new winger who can add more quality to the club’s offensive line next season.

The failed pursuit of Nico Williams has led Barcelona to hunt for an alternative in the market.
