Columbian singer-songwriter Yeison Jim\u00e9nez, known for his popular Mexican ranchera music, died in a Saturday plane crash with five other members of his team on the way to a concert in Medellin.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith heavy hearts and indescribable grief, Yeison Jim\u00e9nez\u2019s organization and team deeply regret to announce his passing,\u201d reads a statement <\/a>posted to Jim\u00e9nez\u2019s Instagram on Saturday (the statement has been translated).<\/p>\n \u201cToday, we not only say goodbye to an artist; we say goodbye to a son, a brother, a friend, a human being full of dreams and courage, who transformed his story into a source of hope for thousands.\u201d<\/p>\n The plane, registered as N325FA, crashed in the area between the cities of Paipa and Duitama shortly after takeoff around 4 p.m. local time, according to Colombia\u2019s Special Administrative Unit of Civil Aeronautics<\/a>. <\/p>\n All six people aboard were killed.<\/p>\n The other victims were identified as Jefferson Osorio, Juan Manuel, Oscar Mar\u00edn, Weisman Mora, and Captain Fernando Torres, PEOPLE reports.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cWe send our deepest condolences, our absolute solidarity, and our prayers to their families during this difficult time,\u201d the Saturday post reads.<\/p>\n The Technical Directorate for Accident Investigation is investigating the incident.<\/p>\n Jim\u00e9nez is survived by his wife and three children, according to PEOPLE.<\/p>\n
