Moments ago, they added another young edge rusher that brings eligibility to the table in <b><a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/Player\/mylachi-williams-46138389\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mylachi Williams<\/a><\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>The <b><a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/penn-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Penn State<\/a><\/b> transfer appeared in five games for Penn State in 2025. He recorded one tackle, and Pro Football Focus credited him with three quarterback pressures. He played 35 defensive snaps against <b><a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/nevada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nevada<\/a><\/b>, <b><a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/florida-international\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FIU<\/a><\/b>, <b><a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/michigan-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan State<\/a><\/b>, <b><a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/nebraska\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nebraska<\/a><\/b> and <b><a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/clemson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clemson<\/a><\/b> in the Pinstripe Bowl.<\/p>\n<p>The 6-foot-3, 248-pound Williams didn&#8217;t appear in a game during his redshirt season in 2024. He was named the Developmental Squad Defensive Player of the Week on four occasions.<\/p>\n<p>Penn State signed Williams out of Drexel Hill (Pa.) Monsignor Bonner in the Class of 2024. He was rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, and he was ranked as the No. 12 player in <b><a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/pennsylvania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pennsylvania<\/a><\/b> and the No. 41 edge nationally.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Virginia Tech went into the portal window with a clear need to elevate the edge rusher position.
