Ousted Venezuelan leader Nicol\u00e1s Maduro<\/a> is in solitary confinement at Brooklyn\u2019s notorious Metropolitan Detention Center, and he might start talking to himself before his next court date on March 17.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has no cellphone, no TV and a lack of human contact,\u201d said attorney Arthur Aidala<\/a>, who doesn\u2019t represent Maduro, but was recently at MDC to meet with a client.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe can see his lawyers, but otherwise he\u2019s alone,\u201d Aidala said. \u201cHe could end up like Tom Hanks in \u2018Castaway,\u2019 talking to a volleyball<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maduro likely won\u2019t get to see his wife, Cilia Flores<\/a>, who\u2019s also being held on narco-terrorism charges<\/a>, nor will he get to interact with Luigi Mangione<\/a> or rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He missed some other high-profile inmates<\/a> who have moved on from Brooklyn, including Harvey Weinstein, Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs, Sam Bankman-Fried and Ghislaine Maxwell, who once said her cell was so infested that a \u201cfriendly rat would regularly visit\u201d<\/a> as she used the toilet.<\/p>\n

In their charging documents<\/a>, prosecutors allege Maduro, his wife and his son, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro Guerra, engaged in a cocaine-trafficking conspiracy and partnered with cartels designated as terrorist groups.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They claim the accused co-conspirators \u201cabused their positions of public trust and corrupted once-legitimate institutions to import tons of cocaine into the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n

After being captured from their home in Caracas<\/a> and flown to New York, Maduro and Flores pleaded not guilty<\/a> in Manhattan federal court. They\u2019re expected to remain detained at the MDC for the time being.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Fantasticks\u201d opened in 1960<\/a> at the Sullivan Street Playhouse in Greenwich Village and ran for 42 years, playing 17,162 performances, making it the world\u2019s longest-running musical.<\/p>\n

Now it\u2019s being restaged for Broadway, with the characters of young lovers Matt and Luisa being changed to Matt and Lewis<\/a>, reinterpreting the tale through a modern gay lens<\/a>. The show\u2019s original pair of fathers, who secretly trick their children into falling in love by pretending to be in a feud, will instead be mothers.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s all fine by Anthony Noto, the son of original producer Lore Noto<\/a>, who said, \u201cThe beautiful music and profound lyrics deserve a retelling in any language.\u201d<\/p>\n

Casting for the reimagined musical, helmed by \u201cDeath Becomes Her\u201d director Christopher Gattelli, will be announced in the coming months.<\/p>\n

Among the notable names who have previously performed in the show are Liza Minnelli, Elliott Gould, Glenn Close, Kristin Chenoweth, John Goodman and Megan Mullally.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s signature ballad, \u201cTry to Remember,\u201d<\/a> has also been recorded by hundreds of artists like Harry Belafonte, Bobby Darin and Gladys Knight.<\/p>\n

The Jonas Brothers\u2019 concerts on their Greetings From Your Hometown Tour were punctuated with celebrity guests, including Demi Lovato<\/a>, Hanson<\/a> and John Legend<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For their recent final show at the Barclays Center<\/a>, the brothers brought JoJo, Norah Jones, Sombr and Japanese rock star Yoshiki onstage to perform with them.<\/p>\n
