{"id":510490,"date":"2026-01-12T09:08:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T09:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/510490\/"},"modified":"2026-01-12T09:08:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T09:08:11","slug":"san-antonio-gas-prices-drop-again-with-some-stations-below-2-a-gallon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/510490\/","title":{"rendered":"San Antonio gas prices drop again, with some stations below $2 a gallon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Bexar County, the average for regular gas is $2.26 a gallon.<\/p>\n<p>SAN ANTONIO \u2014 Gas prices have stayed low for the past couple of months and they\u2019ve continued to slide into the new year.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, the national average sits at $2.79 a gallon, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kens5.com\/article\/life\/holidays\/san-antonio-texas-gas-fuel-cost-prices-drop-per-gallon-pump-oil-regulations-taxes-gasbuddy-aaa-december-2025\/273-10587aff-2036-43c9-8bbe-ce7556f7f100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">after dropping below $3 in early December.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/?state=TX\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to AAA,<\/a> drivers in Texas are paying about 40 cents less than the national average, with regular gas at $2.39 a gallon statewide.<\/p>\n<p>In San Antonio, the average price is even lower at $2.27. One Alamo City station has dipped below the $2 mark, the northeast-side Sam\u2019s Club on Interstate 35 near Judson Road is advertising unleaded at $1.98 a gallon as of Sunday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>San Antonio\u2019s average is also lower than prices in Corpus Christi, Houston and Austin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&gt;&gt;Average cost of regular gas in major Texas cities as of Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>El Paso: $2.64 a gallon<\/li>\n<li>Dallas: $2.51<\/li>\n<li>Austin-San Marcos: $2.35<\/li>\n<li>San Antonio: $2.27<\/li>\n<li>Houston: $2.35<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong id=\"isPasted\">&gt;&gt;Average cost of diesel gas in major Texas cities as of <strong id=\"isPasted\">Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026:\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul id=\"isPasted\">\n<li>El Paso: $3.24 a gallon<\/li>\n<li>Dallas: $3.15<\/li>\n<li>Austin-San Marcos: $2.96<\/li>\n<li>San Antonio: $2.89<\/li>\n<li>Houston: $3.00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>San Antonio drivers are seeing more relief at the pump, with regular gas about 19 cents cheaper than a week ago and more than 40 cents less per gallon than this time last year.
