{"id":511891,"date":"2026-01-12T23:24:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T23:24:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/511891\/"},"modified":"2026-01-12T23:24:15","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T23:24:15","slug":"2-teens-bring-loaded-guns-to-nyc-schools-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/511891\/","title":{"rendered":"2 teens bring loaded guns to NYC schools, police say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two teens were found with loaded guns at two separate New York City schools on Monday morning, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Officers said a 17-year-old was found with a gun at about 10:15 a.m. at Harlem Renaissance School.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At about 11:10 a.m., a school safety agent spotted a 15-year-old with a gun at Long Island City High School. Police said the student is in custody.<\/p>\n<p>Both schools are non-scanning, meaning there are no metal detectors in place at the school.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>City education officials <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/student-with-gun-east-brooklyn-high-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">said in October <\/a>that the use of scanners and metal detectors is handled by the NYPD&#8217;s School Safety Division.
