(Facebook: Eloise Worledge &#8211; Missing Person Australia)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Eloise&#8217;s disappearance sparked one of the largest search investigations recorded at that time, with more than 250 police deployed over 18 days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">But the search of the area and nearby suburbs, along with parks, the foreshore and thousands of nearby homes, found no trace of the eight-year-old.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2026-01-11\/eloise-worledge-disappearance-50-anniversary-beaumaris\/106207002\" data-component=\"FullBleedLink\" class=\"RelatedCard_link__rsgR9 FullBleedLink_root__lTw_U interactive_focusContext__yRhc_ interactive_defaults__AKxUU FullBleedLink_showVisited__g3Xvz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A missing child, the botched case and the aunt who never stopped asking why<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP RelatedCard_synopsis__cFwMW Typography_sizeMobile14__u7TGe Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Fifty years after Beaumaris schoolgirl Eloise Worledge vanished, could new leads solve one of Australia&#8217;s most haunting cold cases?<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Extensive police efforts in the years since, along with further appeals, have also failed to turn up any credible evidence that conclusively explained the disappearance or who might be responsible, police say.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">In 2023, the Missing Persons Squad reviewed the case as part of a request from the Board of Enquiry, looking at alleged sexual offenders linked to <a class=\"Link_link__kR0xA Link_link__5eL5m ScreenReaderOnly_srLinkHint__OysWz Link_showVisited__C1Fea Link_showFocus__ALyv2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2024-02-27\/beaumaris-primary-inquiry-scratches-surface-of-paedophile-crisis\/103503912\" data-component=\"Link\" data-uri=\"coremedia:\/\/article\/103503912\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Beaumaris Primary School<\/a>, which Eloise attended.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Police were not able to determine any links between the alleged offending at the school and Eloise&#8217;s disappearance, but today said any new information provided would be thoroughly assessed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">With no confirmed sightings, police said they &#8220;sadly hold the belief that Eloise has been murdered&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;A lifetime of immense grief and pain&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The Worledge family this week said the ongoing public interest and suspicion surrounding the family \u2014 &#8220;found to be unsubstantiated more than once \u2014 caused a lifetime of immense grief and pain&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;Despite this, somehow, we managed to find our own peace,&#8221; the family said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;However, the anniversary brings up a multitude of emotions and causes a great deal of distress yet again.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A colourful kids drawing showing a person, bunny and flower.\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/a41d147d49df28cd4b8200cd0fef1518.png\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">A drawing by Eloise.
