Angela McKnight secured the American Rescue Plan grant for the facility, which will be located within Bayside Park in the Greenville section. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"NOO5XWZXGJEYRIVQV2VII35TWI\">The project advances a 2024 city ordinance calling for recreation centers in each ward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"YXZ4VHYUNFBURATT2XQQ6DWTG4\">The new community centers will include flexible spaces for youth programs, fitness and wellness activities, educational workshops, cultural programs and community-based services for all residents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ZTW5YGFAANANDKG67BRRRGRYPQ\">The multi-purpose hub will be designed with direct community input to reflect local priorities. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"6WN57C5DM5BNBJEVJNQZEZH7LI\">Additional public meetings are scheduled for 2026 to seek feedback from residents before construction begins. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Jersey City has landed $1 million in federal funding to build the Bayside Community Center.
