SAN ANTONIO \u2014 If you’re heading downtown this week, you’ll see plenty of walk but not a lot of river. That’s because the river is being drained for cleaning.<\/p>\n

The San Antonio River Main Channel from West Josephine Street to South Alamo Street is being drained as part of the River Walk Maintenance program. <\/p>\n

Crews are removing sediment build-up and debris, inspecting the channel’s integrity, as well as making any necessary repairs.<\/p>\n

The last full draining was two years ago in January of 2024<\/a>. Work is expected to wrap up by next Monday, Jan. 19.
