Comedian and former \u201cLate Show\u201d host\u00a0David Letterman\u00a0unloaded on \u201cidiots\u201d at CBS News during a podcast on Friday, calling the network a \u201cwreck.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat about those idiots at CBS?\u201d Letterman said during \u201cThe Barbara Gaines Show,\u201d a podcast hosted by his former executive producer. \u201cCBS News is a wreck, it\u2019s just gone. CBS News for decades, going back to World War II \u2014 before World War II \u2014 they would be, Ed Murrow would be broadcasting the blitz of London from the rooftop of buildings in London for CBS Radio.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd it was that mentality that drove the integrity of CBS News that has been trampled on, p\u2014\u2013 on, and eviscerated by these idiots that have taken it over. And I\u2019m at a point now where it really is hurting my feelings. Because I\u2019m sick and tired of people saying, \u2018Oh, wait until those midterms.\u2019 Kids, we\u2019re far downstream of the midterms having any effect on this,\u201d Letterman said.<\/p>\n

Letterman also spoke about late-night comedians\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers and\u00a0Stephen Colbert\u00a0during the interview.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He referenced Kimmel\u2019s brief suspension over comments he made about Charlie Kirk\u2019s alleged killer and said Kimmel \u201cbrought the people at Disney, and all of those other network television owners, to their knees.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd also Seth Meyers \u2014 he\u2019s very good,\u201d Letterman continued. \u201cAnd I\u2019m telling you, we\u2019re running out of places where you hear these voices. And Stephen Colbert and that franchise, adios.\u201d<\/p>\n

Letterman said Kimmel\u2019s attacks against Trump weren\u2019t all \u201cpolitically driven,\u201d but rather driven by the person in the office.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is pure cowardice,\u201d Letterman said at the time. \u201cThey did not do the correct thing.
