{"id":514192,"date":"2026-01-13T23:34:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T23:34:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/514192\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T23:34:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T23:34:14","slug":"police-in-nj-on-alert-over-possible-fake-cop-pulling-people-over-nbc-new-york","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/514192\/","title":{"rendered":"Police in NJ on alert over possible fake cop pulling people over \u2013 NBC New York"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police in Readington Township, New Jersey are issuing a warning about someone possibly posing as a cop and pulling drivers over in an unmarked vehicle. <\/p>\n<p>An alleged victim told NBC New York that a car tailed her last week down road using a P.A. system demanding she pull over. <\/p>\n<p>The car had no flashing lights or any clear markings. Because of this the alleged victim had her suspicions and kept going for nearly a mile to a well lit area, before the car peeled away. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m glad I didn\u2019t stop,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I\u2019m an experienced driver &#8211; but if it was my son by himself or an elderly driver, he would\u2019ve pulled over.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Police say that similar reports have been made throughout Hunterdon County in recent days, including in Raritan Township, Alexandria and Lambertville. However, it is currently unclear if these incidents are connected.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s an older style Grand Marquee or Ford Crown Victoria&#8221;  Readingtown Township Chief of Police Steven\u00a0Rindock said. &#8220;It looks like an old, maybe decommissioned police car. It&#8217;s lighter in color.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Rindock said that although they know the vehicle is light in color, the photo they have isn&#8217;t entirely clear making it difficult to truly identify the vehicle&#8217;s car.
