Photo by Sarah Wesolowski<\/a><\/p>\n UTA\u2019s Student Government introduced one resolution and provided updates on five resolutions from the previous semester during Tuesday’s meeting.<\/p>\n Resolution 26-01, \u201cEvery Car Counts,\u201d aims to extend flexibility to commuter students by allowing them to register multiple vehicles under a single permit, while maintaining the rule that only one registered vehicle per permit may be parked on campus at a time. <\/p>\n Senators raise their hands during a Student Senate general body meeting Jan. 13 at the Student Government Chambers. Newly elected senators were sworn in for the spring semester.<\/p>\n Photo by Sarah Wesolowski<\/a><\/p>\n Commuter students may rely on alternate vehicles, such as rentals or family members’ cars, and the current parking and registration policy requires students to update the vehicle information when switching cars. Students may face stress or time constraints and may forget to update the information, according to the resolution. <\/p>\n UTA employees are permitted to register up to three vehicles per permit, with the restriction that one can be parked on campus at any time, according to the Parking and Transportation Services website. <\/p>\n Austin Palacios, speaker of the senate, said that a similar initiative existed for students, but the university did away with it due to students taking advantage of it. <\/p>\n Student Body President Effua Jordan takes a photo of Martin Camarillo, College of Nursing and Health Innovation Senator, during a Student Senate general body meeting Jan. 13 in the Student Government Chambers. Senators introduced a resolution that would allow students to register multiple vehicles under a single parking permit.<\/p>\n Photo by Sarah Wesolowski<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThe resolution wants to basically restore the old system,\u201d Palacios said. <\/p>\n The Senate also gave updates on these past resolutions: <\/p>\n Resolution 25-29, \u201cMidterm Exam, Midterm Review,\u201d calls for the university to implement a review of professors during the midterm exam period. <\/p>\n Resolution 25-28, \u201cOperation Relocation: Bring the Vets to the UC,\u201d asks that upon completion of the new University Center, the veteran center be moved to it. <\/p>\n Resolution 25-30, \u201cSeeds of Support,\u201d calls for the organization of a campus community garden, which would donate the proceeds to the Maverick Pantry. <\/p>\n Senators discuss resolutions during the Student Senate general body meeting Jan. 13 at the Student Government Chambers.
