Deadline<\/a> reports Hayat Kamille (Vikings: Valhalla) has joined the cast of Lee Cronin\u2019s The Mummy in a currently undisclosed role.<\/p>\n Anima <\/p>\n Bloody-Disgusting<\/a> also has word Odette Annabelle, Allegra Leguizamo, Julio Cesar Cedillo, Tony Revolori, and Andres Londono will star in Anima, a \u201cpsychological horror movie\u201d from director Andr\u00e9s Beltr\u00e1n. The story concerns Helena (Annable), \u201ca forensic medical investigator overwhelmed by grief after the death of her husband Richard (Londono). When she becomes obsessed with a disturbing new case, Helena starts to believe she can bring Richard back\u2014unleashing a cascade of terrifying consequences. Revolori plays Pablo, a key figure tied to the mystery that pulls Helena further into a spiral of obsession and horror. Leguizamo portrays Helena\u2019s daughter Julia.\u201d<\/p>\n Untitled Peter Jackson Projects <\/p>\n During a recent interview with Screen Rant<\/a>, Peter Jackson\u2014who hasn\u2019t directed a feature since 2014\u2014revealed he\u2019s currently working on \u201cthree different screenplays,\u201d but believes his ongoing efforts with Colossal Biosciences to bring the giant moa back from extinction<\/a> is \u201cjust as exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n No, no. I\u2019m certainly not retired. We are currently working on three different screenplays. I\u2019m at the moment writing three different scripts.<\/p>\n We are producing and have been writing The Hunt for Gollum, which Andy Serkis is going to direct next year. I\u2019ve enjoyed working on documentaries, whether they show I\u2019ve grown old or not, and obviously the Get Back The Beatles project. I\u2019ve enjoyed doing various things with The Beatles, which is great, and that\u2019ll probably carry on.<\/p>\n But to me, de-extincting the Moa would be just as exciting, if not more exciting, than any film I could possibly make. I\u2019ve made a lot of movies, but to see the Giant Moa brought back would be a level of excitement that I think would supersede anything at this point in time.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n I Know What You Did Last Summer <\/p>\n Speaking with People<\/a>, Freddie Prinze Jr. stated he believes the new I Know What You Did Last Summer includes \u201cthe best work\u201d he and co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt have done \u201cin all three of the movies [they\u2019ve done] together.\u201d<\/p>\n I\u2019m really proud of the work that Love and I got to do on screen. I think it\u2019s the best work we\u2019ve done in all three of the movies that we did together. And I don\u2019t think it\u2019s close.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Barbie 2 <\/p>\n In conversation with Bustle<\/a>, Sydney Sweeney stated she \u201cwould not be opposed\u201d to a role in a (still entirely hypothetical) sequel to 2023\u2019s Barbie.<\/p>\n I\u2019d have to read a script, but I\u2019m a huge, huge fan of Margot [Robbie], so I would not be opposed to it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Garfield 2 <\/p>\n Elsewhere, THR<\/a> reports that Chris Pratt will once again voice Garfield in an unexpected sequel to last year\u2019s poorly reviewed The Garfield Movie. However, \u201cproducers are searching for a writer and director\u201d willing to make it.<\/p>\n Keeper <\/p>\n Fangoria<\/a> also has a poster for Osgood Perkins\u2019 mysterious new horror project, Keeper.<\/p>\n An alien abductee fortifies his family home against further extraterrestrial incursions in the trailer for Descendent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Animale <\/p>\n Elsewhere, a bullfighter begins to transform into a bull herself after being gored by an especially aggressive toro in the trailer for Animale, a \u201cbody horror nightmare\u201d coming to VOD this August 8.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Resident Alien <\/p>\n While Harry is \u201cbrought in front of the Galactic Housing Council to answer for his crimes,\u201d chaotic duo D\u2019arcy and Judy take center stage in new photos from this week\u2019s episode of Resident Alien (via Spoiler TV<\/a>).<\/p>\n Finally, a new promo for Disney+ and Hulu\u2019s 2025 programming roster includes our first look at Marvel\u2019s Wonder Man, as well as new footage from Alien: Earth and Percy Jackson & the Olympians.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Want more io9 news?
