Under Music Director Robert Spano and Principal Guest Conductor Dame Jane Glover, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra\u2019s 2026\u20132027 season blends classical mainstays, world premieres, and multimedia collaborations. From live-to-film concerts and video game music to dance and visual art, the orchestra brings an immersive, full-spectrum experience to the city\u2019s cultural stage.<\/p>\n<p>Spano, a four-time Grammy Award winner, continues to attract internationally acclaimed soloists and guest conductors while commissioning new works. Glover, in her second season, leads both the classical canon and twentieth-century repertoire, including critically acclaimed performances of Mahler, Sibelius, and Shostakovich. The season also features collaborations with Bruce Wood Dance Dallas, The Cliburn, Kimbell Art Museum, Sid Richardson Museum, Dallas Theater Center, and Seraphic Fire.<\/p>\n<p>The season opens with Beethoven\u2019s &#8220;Egmont Overture,&#8221; followed by Mozart\u2019s &#8220;Piano Concerto No. 23&#8221; with 2025 Cliburn Gold Medalist Aristo Sham. Highlights include Brahms and Haydn programs, Stucky\u2019s &#8220;The Classical Style,&#8221; Beethoven\u2019s &#8220;Symphony No. 6, &#8216;Pastoral'&#8221; with artwork from the Kimbell Art Museum, and Mahler\u2019s &#8220;Songs of a Wayfarer&#8221; with choreography by Bruce Wood Dance Dallas. The season concludes with a world premiere cello concerto by Christopher Theofanidis performed by FWSO principal cellist Allan Steele.<\/p>\n<p>Chamber concerts at the Kimbell Art Museum feature Spano alongside guest pianist Peter Tak\u00e1cs and orchestra musicians. Pops and special programs include live-to-film presentations of &#8220;Hook,&#8221; &#8220;Batman&#8221; (1989), &#8220;The Wizard of Oz,&#8221; &#8220;Toy Story,&#8221; and &#8220;Harry Potter,&#8221; as well as performances by Pink Martini, Journey, and the video game concert &#8220;The Music of Square Enix \u2013 Magic, Memories, and Melodies.&#8221; The annual gala features mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato conducted by Glover.
