Candy Spelling<\/a> is a cover girl \u2014\u00a0at 80.<\/p>\n The Broadway producer \u2014\u00a0who is mom to\u00a0Beverly Hills, 90210<\/a>\u00a0star\u00a0Tori Spelling<\/a>\u00a0and son Randy, as well as widow of their late TV producer father,\u00a0Aaron Spelling<\/a>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0opened up in a recent cover story interview with Westlake Malibu Lifestyle Magazine<\/a>, published on Jan. 11.<\/p>\n The cover sparked comments on Instagram<\/a>, where fans commented on her strikingly youthful appearance, which diverged from recent red carpet photos.<\/p>\n Several fans said the cover image evoked other celebrities, including actress Trisha Paytas, Bravo Housewife Gizelle Bryant and Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian.<\/p>\n In the new interview, Spelling recalls the moment she met her late husband, Aaron, in her early 20s.<\/p>\n Steve Eichner\/Variety\/Getty<\/p>\n Candy Spelling at the opening night of “The Great Gatsby” in April 2024.<\/p>\n “There was something indescribable between us from the moment we met,” she said. “It was a profound connection. I remember feeling like we could see something in each other that no one else could. We danced… and during one of the dances, Aaron said, ‘I\u2019m going to marry you some day’.”<\/p>\n The couple dated exclusively for the next couple years and wed in November 1968.<\/p>\n “I was a young girl when I married the hardest-working television writer in Hollywood. Fortunately for me, my new husband\u2019s talents at the typewriter were matched by his kindness and generous spirit,” Spelling told the outlet of Aaron, who created TV hits Beverly Hills, 90210, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat and more.<\/p>\n The couple welcomed two kids: daughter Tori in 1973 and son\u00a0Randy in 1978. They both appeared in their dad’s shows, with Tori starring in\u00a0Beverly Hills, 90210.<\/p>\n Candy told the outlet that she was able to “overcome emotional obstacles” with Aaron’s “loving support,” and raised their two kids while providing a stable home life for her hustling husband in Hollywood.<\/p>\n Gregg DeGuire\/WireImage<\/p>\n Tori Spelling, Aaron Spelling and Candy Spelling at the 15th Carousel of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills.<\/p>\n Aaron died in in June 2006<\/a> at age 83 in his mansion near Beverly Hills. His wife was by his side.<\/p>\n “When Aaron died, I not only lost my life partner, but I was also suddenly missing the force of nature who had defined me and our family,” she said in the interview. “For the first time in 38 years, I had to learn to function in the big, scary world on my own.”<\/p>\n Spelling thrived in her next life chapter. She co-produced shows like\u00a0Promises, Promises,\u00a0How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,\u00a0After Midnight\u00a0and The Color Purple.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m most proud of the two Tony Awards that I\u2019ve won,” she said. “They always make me smile when I walk into my den and right along next to my husband\u2019s Emmys are my two Tonys. We have a little mixture going there \u2013 Moulin Rouge!
