The Jonas Brothers may be thriving today, but in 2013, the brother-led band broke up and their six-year hiatus seemingly took a toll on one of the brothers\u2019 finances.<\/p>\n
On Monday, Kevin Jonas<\/a> revealed during a \u201cThe School of Greatness\u201d episode<\/a> that during the band\u2019s break, he lost \u201calmost all\u201d of his fortune.<\/p>\n The eldest Jonas Brother elaborated on this experience after host Lewis Howes asked the brothers about the biggest lessons they\u2019ve learned from money and success.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve seen the beginning of the success to financial success, not really knowing what money was and understanding it, to not having [it], to losing almost all of it,\u201d Kevin explained.<\/p>\n He shared that \u201cabout nine years ago\u201d there was a \u201cbad business deal\u201d that put him in an uneasy financial state.<\/p>\n Howes, surprised by Kevin\u2019s confession, asked the 37-year-old how much he had lost.<\/p>\n \u201cMost of it,\u201d Kevin said, noting that he was \u201cdown to 10 percent left\u201d of his fortune. As for what this botched business deal entailed, Kevin said: \u201cI invested in a bunch of property and doing other things I was building at the time. Sadly, it wasn\u2019t the right partnership, if you know what I\u2019m saying. Can\u2019t really get too much into it, but the sad part of it is I\u2019ve learned a lot of lessons in that.\u201d<\/p>\n Fortunately, the Jonas Brothers reunited in 2019, which meant that Kevin had a chance to replenish his bank account.<\/p>\n \u201cThankfully, for life in general, we have a second shot and bite at the apple with the band coming back together,\u201d he remarked. \u201cIt was fortuitous in a way. I learned this lesson \u2014 never wanted to learn it \u2014 but then at the same time, reevaluated how to approach life.\u201d<\/p>\n The Jonas Brothers, originally from New Jersey, are an American pop-rock band consisting of brothers Kevin, Joe, and Nick. They got their start on Disney Channel, first appearing in the 2008 movie musical \u201cCamp Rock\u201d and its 2010 sequel \u201cCamp Rock 2: The Final Jam.\u201d They also had their own show on the network dubbed \u201cJONAS L.A.\u201d<\/p>\n Next month, the band\u2019s \u201cGreetings From Your Hometown Tour\u201d begins, which kicks off near their home base at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The tour will stop in Syracuse on Aug. 19 at the Empower FCU Amphitheater at Lakeview. The tour will return to Upstate NY again on Nov. 9 with a performance at KeyBank Center in Buffalo.
