Sharif Street"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Muslim League of Voters of the Delaware Valley is officially endorsing state Sen. Sharif Street in his campaign for Pennsylvania\u2019s 3rd Congressional District. The League, which is the oldest local political organization advocating for the Philadelphia region\u2019s Muslim community, is backing Sharif because of his long history of service to the Muslim community and his potential to make history. Having already been the first Muslim elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate, a victory in 2026 would make Street the first Muslim to represent the commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the U.S. Congress.<\/p>\n<p>Street has a long track record of protecting religious liberties, notably his successful leadership in changing Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) policies.
