HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 A Houston Texans football player was the victim of an armed robbery that led to a police pursuit, a major crash involving patrol vehicles, according to Harris County court documents. <\/p>\n

The suspect is now facing multiple felony charges.<\/p>\n

Jaylen Reed, a 22-year-old rookie safety for the Texans, was identified in court records as the victim in the terrifying incident.<\/p>\n

Houston Police Department confirmed to KPRC 2 that its officers responded to a reported robbery at a west Houston home on Jan. 4.<\/p>\n

The Texans declined to comment on the personal matter involving Reed to KPRC 2.<\/p>\n

The Texans player had reportedly just pulled into his garage when three masked men dressed in black confronted him and pointed rifles at him, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

Investigators say the suspects demanded \u201ceverything he had in the house,\u201d although available documents did not confirm whether or not anything from inside the home was taken.<\/p>\n

Two of the three suspected robbers took off in Reed\u2019s car. The third ran away on foot.<\/p>\n

Officers later located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop and led officers on a pursuit.<\/p>\n

The chase ended near Ella Boulevard and Rushcreek Drive, where the stolen vehicle crashed and one of the suspects was taken into custody. <\/p>\n

HPD said two patrol vehicles were damaged during the pursuit. One patrol unit caught fire following a collision, and another was significantly damaged. Officers involved suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment at the scene.<\/p>\n

The arrested suspect was identified as Montreal Dwayne Frye, 20. He is charged with felony evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, according to Harris County court records. His bond has been set at $500,000 on each charge, totaling $1 million, and he remains in jail.<\/p>\n
