The programs aim to provide incentives for employees to consider retirement or other career transitions this spring. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Cowley said the programs were needed to help UTA adapt \u201camid significant shifts in federal funding and policy,\u201d according to a Monday email to students, faculty and staff. University officials said they expected federal grant and contract revenue related to research to decrease $34 million over the next two years. UTA also saw a <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/09\/23\/tarrant-county-colleges-see-fall-enrollment-growth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/09\/23\/tarrant-county-colleges-see-fall-enrollment-growth\/\">30% decrease<\/a> in international graduate student enrollment in fall 2025. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Eligible employees accepted into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uta.edu\/hr\/strategy-and-direction\/vsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.uta.edu\/hr\/strategy-and-direction\/vsp\">UTA\u2019s voluntary separation program<\/a> will resign effective May 31 and receive a lump sum payment in August equal to 9 or 12 months of base salary. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Employees accepted into the phased retirement program will resign effective May 31. Faculty members can return to work with reduced hours after Aug. 31 for no more than two years, while invited staff can return for a year.
