Well, so did I, but then immediately after writing my <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/06\/25\/the-dish-summer-menus-arrive-in-cowtown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">seasonal menus column<\/a>, I started seeing a bunch of other summer-related updates from Fort Worth restaurants. That\u2019s how my luck usually works \u2014\u00a0I started seeing sandwich and sub specials two days after submitting my sandwich article last month, too. It\u2019s how the universe keeps me humble.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ice Box Creamery moves to summer hours<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This ice cream shop just switched over to summer hours July 1 and is now open noon-9:30 p.m. As one might expect, <a href=\"https:\/\/iceboxcreamery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ice Box Creamery<\/a> has single- and double-scoop cones, banana splits and build-your-own sundaes. They also have shaved ice, strawberry and original cheesecake by the slice, mini donuts, a cannoli with chocolate drizzle and Nutella-covered strawberries.<\/p>\n<p>Ice creams range from vanilla, chocolate, cookie dough and mint chocolate chip to less expected flavors such as coconut, green tea, praline, black raspberry and pistachio. Their website shows 10 sundaes, with singles at $6.99 and doubles for $11.99.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>9570 Clifford St., Fort Worth; 682-382-2258<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Piattello Italian Kitchen offers discounts and shareables<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Until Aug. 28, dine-in customers at this Italian spot will get half-price pizzas and 30% off select sangiovese wines every Thursday. They\u2019ll also see half-off bottles of wine on Mondays. Wednesdays are for all-night happy hours and a chicken Parmesan special. Summer shareables include house ricotta and sourdough, fried squash blossoms, fried calamari and $5 garlic bread.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Piattello\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.piattelloitaliankitchen.com\/menu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online menu<\/a> shows four entrees: Eggplant Parmigiana, Chicken Milanese, roasted chicken and a daily fish option. Pizzas, salads and pastas go for $14-$30.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Four of their seasonal cocktails are spritzes: a frozen Aperol Spritz, Italicus Spritz, Hugo Spritz and Limoncello Spritz. Their other two summer drinks are the Miss Sunshine, made with <a href=\"https:\/\/supersavernj.com\/shop\/product\/stolichnaya-citron-vodka-750m\/56f45f9669702d7cbab70800?option-id=0873325adc3b2a7a578021edc67a696dd12091e5e9933b83032c18ef349e976f&amp;srsltid=AfmBOorf6enWXDM5CBc0cIA9lMl3VYSM4z87uZm3yuT_PLwwZSfF-Yrs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stolichnaya Citron<\/a>, and a Luxardo Whiskey Sour with<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bendtdistillingco.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Bendt<\/a> whiskey.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>5924 Convair Drive, Fort Worth; 817-349-0484<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Happy hour pricing for health care workers, students at Walloon\u2019s<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Health care workers and students can dine at happy hour prices all day on weekdays until Aug. 30 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walloonsrestaurant.com\/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAafu2n05u3w0xY198XOaKkCKcZkQLM0SdazJlut_ZUsnDb9kTsTJ1Y8Vkz4OPQ_aem_kejk8JwPkHyj6ELu503bKg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Walloon\u2019s<\/a> on West Magnolia Avenue if\u00a0they\u2019re wearing scrubs or present their health care ID. Seafood is this eatery\u2019s focus, from trout almondine, seared redfish and seafood mac and cheese to raw options such as cold water oysters and spicy tuna crudo.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If fish is not your jam, there are also sandwiches, salads, a seasonal soup and two non-oceanic entrees on the <a href=\"https:\/\/walloons-restaurant.squarespace.com\/menu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">menu<\/a>. Or the truly self-indulgent types may wish to skip to dessert, where you\u2019ll find affogato, bread pudding or the enigmatically named Something Chocolate for $10. Brunch offerings Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., include classic eggs Benedict, pancakes, avocado toast, beignets and brunch paninis.<\/p>\n<p>Happy hour is Monday-Friday 3-6 p.m., and Walloon\u2019s validates parking for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parkwhiz.com\/p\/fort-worth-parking\/701-w-magnolia-ave\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">701 parking garage<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>701 W. Magnolia Ave., Fort Worth; 682-224-3230<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This one technically isn\u2019t new, as I mentioned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.claypigeonfd.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clay Pigeon<\/a>\u2019s $50 summer prix-fixe menu in my column two weeks ago. But that menu has since been updated, which I\u2019m told will happen regularly, so I thought it only right that I tell you about it.<\/p>\n<p>The melon and prosciutto remains a first course option while the wedge salad was replaced with a summer salad. Chicken is gone from the mains, which are now pan-seared salmon, Tuscan beef ragu and wood-grilled pork loin.
