Alex Ovechkin<\/strong> made some headlines in February when he stated that he wished young Russian star Matvei Michkov<\/strong> would show off a little less<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichkov is a great guy; he\u2019s doing well,\u201d Ovechkin\u00a0told RG Media then<\/a>. \u201cHe played against us recently, so I got to see him. But I wish he would show off a little less. Otherwise, everything is great.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, months later, Michkov was given a chance to reply to Ovechkin\u2019s quotes by Match TV\u2019s Pavel Lysenkov<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He finished fourth in Calder Trophy voting for Rookie of the Year behind Celebrini, goaltender Dustin Wolf, and the leading rookie scorer and winner of the award, Lane Hutson (66 points).<\/p>\n
