LUBBOCK, Texas \u2013<\/strong> TCU track and field is back in action for the first time in 2026, traveling to the campus of Texas Tech for the Corky Classic January 15 and 16 at the Sports Performance Center Indoor Track.

\nThe Horned Frogs are one of 22 teams competing, including eight Power 4 teams \u2013 Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Purdue, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M and the hosts Texas Tech. The first event is set to be underway at 3 p.m. CT on Friday and 11 a.m. CT on Saturday.

\nBefore the winter break, TCU opened its indoor season at the OU Winter Field Fest and Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, securing a pair of event wins up the road in Norman, Oklahoma. Senior Ben Kirbo brought home a victory in the pole vault, clearing 5.30m to lead the field, and teammate Elise Dobson<\/a>, got her senior year started with a first-place finish in the 60m hurdles. In Boston, Johnson Lagat<\/a> was the lone competitor for the Frogs, racing among the top distance competition in the country. Fresh off an appearance at the NCAA Cross Country Championships two weeks ago, he ran the third fastest indoor 5000m time in program history with a 14.10.45.

\nTCU has only seen the program rise under director of track and field Khadevis Robinson<\/a>, who is entering his fourth season leading his alma mater. In just a short period of time, the Frogs have seen continued success at the Big 12 and national level, winning 14 individual conference titles and, most recently, an Indoor National Championship in the 200m by Indya Mayberry<\/a> last season.

\nTCU returns 13 athletes who advanced to the NCAA Championships last year, led by All-American Mayberry who burst onto the track and field scene as a freshman at last season’s Corky Classic.

\nOn the men’s side, Jayden Douglas<\/a>, Ronnie Kendrick<\/a>, Ben Kirbo, Mohammed Kowa<\/a> and Damilare Olukosi<\/a> are names to watch. Anastacia Gonzales<\/a>, Amari Kiluvia<\/a>, Samarra Monrroy<\/a>, Georgia Scott<\/a>, London Tucker<\/a> and Tia Williams<\/a> will be among the top Frogs for the women.
