{"id":521137,"date":"2026-01-16T20:16:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T20:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/521137\/"},"modified":"2026-01-16T20:16:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T20:16:10","slug":"student-cellist-back-at-school-after-attack-in-downtown-houston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/521137\/","title":{"rendered":"Student cellist back at school after attack in downtown Houston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 A 15-year-old student is back at school after being attacked on his way to class at the Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, according to HISD officials. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Houston police said the attack happened Monday morning near the intersection of Travis and Rusk, four blocks from the campus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">According to police, the student was walking to school with his cello when he was attacked by a homeless man. Ammiel Clark, 21, is accused of attacking the teen, stealing his cello \u201cbefore fleeing, after which he returned to the location and assaulted another individual who was trying to help the (teen).\u201d<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Clark is accused of also attacking a third person that morning. HPD officers arrested Clark approximately an hour after the attacks. Clark is charged with aggravated robbery with serious bodily injury and misdemeanor assault.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">At the time of the attack, Clark was on probation after being given deferred adjudication of guilt for a November 2025 misdemeanor assault in Harris County. Clark was also on probation for a 2024 burglary charge out of Louisiana.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">County records show Clark, who also goes by the name Yoseph Plaincraft, was also out on bond for terroristic threat and trespassing cases, both misdemeanors.
