Here&#8217;s what the owners say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A renowned Dallas restaurant is serving its last meal, at least for now.<\/p>\n<p>DALLAS \u2014 A Dallas restaurant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/life\/food\/michelin-guide-star-texas-restaurants-winners-dfw-houston\/287-7258cec0-cf82-4a5e-af19-9302afd97948\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recognized by the prestigious Michelin guide<\/a> is serving its last meal in the coming months, at least for now, its owners announced.<\/p>\n<p>Rye on Lower Greenville will shut down on March 7, as the restaurant&#8217;s sister concept, the cocktail bar Apothecary, will expand into the space currently occupied by Rye.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Rye &#8220;isn&#8217;t gone forever,&#8221; CEO Tanner Agar said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant&#8217;s owners decided that Apothecary and Rye need to &#8220;grow individually&#8221; instead of sharing a kitchen and being located next door to each other.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To allow Apothecary and Rye to grow individually into the concepts we know they can become, our teams and spaces need to become more separated, with knowledge and resources dedicated to each concept individually,&#8221; Agar said. &#8220;Apothecary is taking over the full space because we feel that Lower Greenville is the appropriate home for it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The expanded Apothecary space will include &#8220;a more approachable menu,&#8221; plus an exclusive back room space, according to a press release.<\/p>\n<p>Rye in 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/life\/food\/michelin-guide-star-texas-restaurants-winners-dfw-houston\/287-7258cec0-cf82-4a5e-af19-9302afd97948\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">was among the Michelin &#8220;recommended&#8221;<\/a> restaurants honored in Dallas. Also, Rye&#8217;s bar manager, Julian Shaffer, was honored by Michelin with its Exceptional Cocktails Award.<\/p>\n<p>Rye was later featured on Guy Fieri&#8217;s &#8220;Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives&#8221; show on Food Network.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rye\u2019s menu includes a sauerkraut chocolate cake and duroc pork belly \u201clollipops,\u201d so while the concept of a sauerkraut chocolate cake is said to date back to the 1960s as a way for school district lunch programs to use up stockpiles of pickled cabbage.<\/p>\n<p>Rye\u2019s version includes dark chocolate cake, sauerkraut, brandied cherry, salted white chocolate ganache, swiss meringue and coffee, according to their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/rye.restaurant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>    <script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A renowned Dallas restaurant is serving its last meal, at least for now.
