CROSBY, Texas \u2014 A construction worker is dead and another hurt after they were hit by a car on Highway 90 Friday evening, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n

The crash happened on Crosby Freeway (Highway 90) near FM 2100 around 9:35 p.m.<\/p>\n
The sheriff’s office said a man in his early 20s was driving east on the freeway when he swerved out of his lane for an unknown reason and hit the two construction workers.<\/p>\n
The construction workers were both flown to area hospitals. One of them was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to HCSO. The other was reportedly in critical, but stable, condition.<\/p>\n
Witnesses told investigators the driver stopped after the crash.<\/p>\n
HCSO said a field sobriety test was conducted at the scene and it was determined that the driver was not intoxicated.<\/p>\n
No charges have been filed against the man at this time.<\/p>\n
