PHOENIX \u2014 A car crash involving a possibly impaired driver in south Phoenix left two adults and two children in the hospital on Friday night, authorities said.<\/p>\n

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to the area of 19th and Southern avenues<\/a> for reports of a collision that resulted in injuries around 6:50 p.m.<\/p>\n

When police arrived at the scene, they found two adults with non-life-threatening injuries and two children with serious injuries, all of whom were from the same vehicle.<\/p>\n

All of the occupants were taken to a nearby hospital where the kids remain in critical condition as of Saturday morning, police said.<\/p>\n

The male driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was not hospitalized for any injuries.<\/p>\n

Preliminary information indicates the car with the single male occupant was headed northbound on 19th Avenue and was attempting to make a left turn onto Southern Avenue before it collided with the car that had the two kids and two adults, which was headed southbound on 19th Avenue.<\/p>\n

The man who was by himself in the car was processed for DUI after showing signs of impairment and then released from the scene, according to police.<\/p>\n

Any charges for the south Phoenix crash are pending the toxicology results as well as the collision reconstruction.<\/p>\n
