The security guard, identified as a 57-year-old man, was struck multiple times before officers arrived, according to SAPD.<\/p>\n<p>Police said officers detained the suspect, a 46-year-old woman, at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>While officers were interviewing the security guard, he collapsed face down onto the pavement, police said. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the circumstances surrounding the assault and the man\u2019s death remain under investigation.
