Pang had been leading Apple\u2019s foundational models team since joining from Google back in 2021.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">He overlooked a team of 100 people who were responsible for developing large language models (LLMs) that power Apple Intelligence and similar AI features.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The departure seemingly follows Apple\u2019s recent changes in its AI division, under the direction of Mike Rockwell since April. Nevertheless, the firm believes that Apple\u2019s approach to AI is \u201cprudently flexible and cost conscious,\u201d whereby its strategy \u201cpreserves capital and optionality\u201d for various monetization opportunities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Apple is a technology company known for its consumer electronics, particularly the iPhones and MacBooks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">While we acknowledge the potential of AAPL as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk.
