Karl Gregory, at the time considered a person of interest in a shooting that took placeon 102nd Street and First Avenue in Manhattan, had been staying at the hotel located about approximately 35 miles outside the city, the New York Times reported.<\/p>\n<p>Police said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/middlesex\/2025\/07\/bodycam-video-released-by-nj-of-fatal-shooting-of-murder-suspect-by-police-in-hotel-lobby.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Gregory was exiting an elevator<\/a> and heading toward the hotel\u2019s lobby when he encountered officers, who spotted his car in the parking lot, according to the state attorney general\u2019s office. (Office of the Attorney General)<\/p>\n<p>Gregory<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvoice.com\/nj\/woodbridge\/bodycam-footage-released-in-fatal-nj-police-shooting-of-nyc-man-at-woodbridge-hotel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> was struck in the gunfire<\/a> and pronounced dead on the scene, Patch reported. Mauro and Nerney were also wounded in the violence. They have both since recovered.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities have not provided detail regarding the initial case involving Gregory.<\/p>\n<p>The incident remains under investigation by the Office of Public Integrity and Accountability, which released three bodycam recordings from the deadly encounter.
