Country singer Bryan Andrews has been making his way into the headlines for his music as well as his thoughts on President Donald Trump, his administration, MAGA and country artists who support it all.<\/p>\n
Trump has historically had the backing of many in country music, with folks like Jason Aldean and John Rich openly campaigning for him. Andrews doesn\u2019t appreciate that. He made headlines last year for telling MAGA folks that they were not Christian, and he has been on fire on social media lately as things have heated up with Trump\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n
He took to Instagram Saturday with a message for his fellow artists.<\/p>\n
\u201cMay not get invited to anymore fish fry\u2019s but at least they\u2019ll know that REAL country music songs a whole lot more like this song than that \u2018Obey or Die\u2019 mindset these bootlickin\u2019 country artists be tryna push these days,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n
Andrews is listening to one of his new songs which he has shared with fans on the platform as \u201cAnti-fascist country.\u201d<\/p>\n
Andrews has his supporters in the message.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow you can throw your own fish fry and you know that your kindred spirits will show up!\u201d one person replied. \u201cKeep singing truth to power brother!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s nothing wrong with being on the right side of humanity!\u201d another wrote. \u201cKeep shouting your messages! We love you.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cUnrelenting soldier!\u201d another wrote. \u201cYou are awesome! Johnny Cash would be a fan!\u201d<\/p>\n
There were plenty more comments and you can see them all as well as Andrews\u2019 post here. <\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Andrews has been outspoken, especially of late.<\/p>\n Andrews took to X earlier this week to share a headline about the president that read, \u201cTrump Says Civil Rights Led to White People Being \u2018Very Badly Treated.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n His response was two words.<\/p>\n \u201cRacist (expletive),\u201d Andrews wrote.<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Rock stars have taken the lead recently in criticizing Trump in the music world, but Andrews has had plenty to say.<\/p>\n He shared a video of Joe Rogan comparing ICE offers to the Gestapo and wrote, \u201cOh oh, all you conservatives gonna come after Rogan for comparing ICE to Nazi\u2019s now? Damn that\u2019s crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n He also shared video from an interview he did with Rolling Stone in which he said, \u201cJesus Christ showed his masculinity and strength through love, compassion, and empathy. Not through oppression and force. He tells you to love the immigrant as yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n Andrews has been much more vocal on Instagram, posting expletive-filled videos taking on the Trump administration and its policies.<\/p>\n It was one of those posts \u2014 a video titled \u201cCrash Out\u201d \u2014 late last year that put Andrews in the headlines as he took MAGA and ICE to task.<\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t get to call yourself a Christian and then advocate and (expletive) laugh when families are torn apart outside of courthouses, when people (are) trying to come here the right ways,\u201d he said in the video.<\/b><\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t get to call yourself a Christian and then think it\u2019s OK that the highest court in the (expletive) land just gave a green light to ICE agents to be able to (expletive) target people because they are brown or speaking Spanish.\u201d<\/p>\n The singer said it makes him \u201csick\u201d to be lumped in with MAGA supporters who claim to be Christians.<\/p>\n \u201cYou are not Christian,\u201d he said. \u201cYou use Christianity as a shield to hide behind when you need to justify the hate that you have scolded into this world.\u201d<\/p>\n Andrews has found his share of supporters with his message. Of course, he also has those who clearly don\u2019t appreciate what he has been saying.
