protesters in Iran and expresses his hope that the uncertainty in Venezuela will evolve into stability, economic recovery, and democracy.<\/p>\n<p><b>Vatican News<\/b><\/p>\n<p>On the sidelines of Mass with the exposition of the relics of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati on Saturday, Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin spoke to journalists outside the church of the Domus Mariae in Rome.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed \u201cgreat concern\u201d in the face of the \u201cendless tragedy\u201d shaking Iran.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI ask myself,\u201d he said, \u201chow it is possible to rage against one\u2019s own people, that there have been so many deaths\u2014it is an endless tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Cardinal said he hopes a peaceful solution can be reached to the current situation.<\/p>\n<p>Attempt at an agreement with Venezuela <\/p>\n<p>Speaking of Venezuela, Cardinal Parolin reiterated the Holy See\u2019s constant commitment to a peaceful resolution of the crisis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had tried to find a solution that would avoid any bloodshed, perhaps by reaching an agreement also with Maduro and with the other representatives of the regime, but this was not possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Cardinal expressed the hope that the present situation of \u201cgreat uncertainty\u201d might evolve toward stability, \u201cthe democratization of the country,\u201d and economic recovery, \u201cbecause the economic situation is truly very precarious.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Multilateralism to resolve the Greenland issue <\/p>\n<p>Asked about Greenland and the tensions running through international politics, the Secretary of State recalled the value of multilateralism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSolutions by force cannot be used,\u201d he said, recalling the spirit of cooperation that characterized the postwar period and which today appears to be progressively weakening.<\/p>\n<p>Resolving disputes and asserting positions solely by force, he said is both \u201cunacceptable\u201d and will bring the world ever closer to \u201ca war within international politics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Helping young people <\/p>\n<p>Finally, Cardinal Parolin reflected on the tragic death of a young student stabbed in the Italian city of La Spezia.<\/p>\n<p>He underscored the importance of education as the primary response to violence.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the necessary security measures\u2014which he said on their own are not enough\u2014Cardinal Parolin invited the education system to \u201chelp young people reflect, to value what is positive, without letting
