Travis Clark<\/strong>\u2019s past comments about Katie Bates<\/strong> are coming to light.<\/p>\n

Three months before confessing he had an affair<\/a> during his marriage, the Bringing Up Bates alum heaped praise on his wife\u2014who recently suffered a pregnancy loss while expecting the couple\u2019s third baby\u2014in a heartfelt social media tribute to mark her 25th birthday, calling her \u201cthe easiest person in the world to celebrate.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou love so deeply, give so much of yourself to everything you do, and somehow make every season we\u2019re in feel special,\u201d he wrote on Instagram<\/a> in October alongside a video showing him and Katie on a trip to the U.K. \u201cFrom the first day I met you I knew there was something different about you\u2026 and I was right.\u201d<\/p>\n

The loving remarks resurfaced at a tough time for the couple\u2014who wed in 2021 and share kids Hailey<\/strong>, 2, and Harvey<\/strong>, 15 months\u2014as Katie recently offered insight into her heartbreaking miscarriage.<\/p>\n

In a Jan. 16 Instagram<\/a> video, Katie highlighted the joyful milestones of learning she was expecting\u2014including revealing her positive pregnancy test to her husband\u2014followed by the deep sorrow of grieving her loss. At one point in the clip, the reality star held hands with a loved one as she tearfully lay in a hospital bed, whispering, \u201cI just lost my baby.\u201d<\/p>\n

Katie also paid tribute to her late child in her caption, writing, \u201cI will spend the rest of my life missing you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The following day, Travis came forward about his infidelity, acknowledging that there was \u201cno excuse for what I did.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology,\u201d the 24-year-old wrote in a Jan. 17 Instagram Stories<\/a> post. \u201cThis was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Travis also shared that he is \u201cgetting help and doing the work to change,\u201d adding, \u201cI ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time.\u201d<\/p>\n
