{"id":527916,"date":"2026-01-19T17:34:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-19T17:34:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/527916\/"},"modified":"2026-01-19T17:34:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T17:34:10","slug":"bbc-in-talks-over-the-apprentices-levi-hodgetts-hague-youre-fired","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/527916\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC In Talks Over &#8216;The Apprentice&#8217;s Levi Hodgetts-Hague &#038; &#8216;You&#8217;re Fired&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>EXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>Conversations are taking place between the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/bbc\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bbc\" data-tag=\"bbc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BBC<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-apprentice\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-apprentice\" data-tag=\"the-apprentice\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Apprentice<\/a> producer <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/naked\/\" id=\"auto-tag_naked\" data-tag=\"naked\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Naked<\/a> over whether an Apprentice contestant who posted offensive tweets will appear on the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/unfinished-business\/\" id=\"auto-tag_unfinished-business\" data-tag=\"unfinished-business\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Unfinished Business<\/a> spin-off show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/levi-hodgetts-hague\/\" id=\"auto-tag_levi-hodgetts-hague\" data-tag=\"levi-hodgetts-hague\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Levi Hodgetts-Hague<\/a>\u2018s Apprentice scenes have all been filmed but Unfinished Business, which has just been rebranded from You\u2019re Fired, airs week by week, as each of the contestants who are fired by host <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/alan-sugar\/\" id=\"auto-tag_alan-sugar\" data-tag=\"alan-sugar\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alan Sugar<\/a> are interviewed after the main show ends.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDeadline is told that conversations have been taking place this morning with The Apprentice production team and the BBC over whether Hodgetts-Hague should appear in the Unfinished Business show, and we understand these discussions are ongoing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Sun on Sunday reported over the weekend that Hodgetts-Hague posted tweets more than a decade ago that referred to Muslims as being \u201cdirty\u201d and women as \u201cslags,\u201d amongst other offensive remarks. Deadline hasn\u2019t verified these now-deleted tweets but The Sun on Sunday posted a number of screenshots and Hodgetts-Hague has acknowledged their existence and apologized. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe BBC has demanded that <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/freemantle\/\" id=\"auto-tag_freemantle\" data-tag=\"freemantle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fremantle<\/a>-owned indie Naked \u201cfully review the social media checks undertaken given the process has clearly failed in this instance.\u201d We understand this demand was made immediately after the BBC was informed of the tweets on Friday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNaked said its \u201crigorous\u201d third party checks of contestants\u2019 social media \u201cfailed to flag the offensive posts, therefore we will be reviewing this process moving forward.\u201d \u201cLevi\u2019s historical posts contain language which is unacceptable and Levi has been spoken to about this behaviour,\u201d said a spokeswoman for Naked. \u201cHe has apologised and insists that these posts do not reflect the man he is now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHodgetts-Hague said he \u201ctakes full accountability for the publishing of those posts.\u201d \u201cThey are not a reflection of the values I uphold today,\u201d he added. \u201cI would like to apologise for my actions, as well as to the production team for failing to bring this account to their attention.\u201d He said he joined the RAF shortly after the 2013 posts \u201cin an effort to make something of myself,\u201d adding, \u201cIt was my time here that played a significant role in my personal growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Previous experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/wp-content\/themes\/pmc-deadline-2019\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.jpg\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/461933-e1707990055857.jpg\" alt=\"Dr Asif Munaf The Apprentice\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tDr Asif Munaf<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBBC\/Naked<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe BBC and Naked have previous experience of this kind of decision-making when it comes to The Apprentice and its companion show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn 2024, the corporation bowed to a torrent of pressure from Jewish staffers and groups by cutting scenes from You\u2019re Fired of a contestant, Dr Asif Munaf, who had <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/02\/bbc-youre-fired-cut-apprentice-asif-munaf-antisemitism-1235826447\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">posted on social media that Zionists are a \u201cgodless satanic cult\u201d <\/a>and referenced the \u201ctrial of the zionist antichrist.\u201d Munaf was struck off the UK medical register several days ago after a tribunal reached the verdict he had posted antisemitic, racist and sexist posts on social media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Apprentice launches its 20th season in 10 days\u2019 time. The UK version of the hit American series helmed once upon a time by Donald Trump is one of the BBC\u2019s biggest hits, has kept a remarkably consistent rating over the decades and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/12\/bbc-celebrity-apprentice-first-full-season-1236645612\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">just greenlit its first full celebrity version.<\/a> Hodgetts-Hague is one of 20 candidates competing for \u00a3250,000 ($330,000) and the chance to go into business with Sugar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHosted by Angela Scanlon, Unfinished Business launches immediately after the first episode of The Apprentice. The companion show used to be called You\u2019re Fired and has been airing since 2006.
