Matthew McDermott<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince wealthy hospital CEOs won\u2019t meet nurses at the bargaining table, striking nurses took their message from the picket lines directly to the hospital CEOs where they live,\u201d NYSNA President Nancy Hagans said in a statement Sunday. <\/p>\n<p>The trio of hospitals, which have tapped into traveling nurses for staffing, had no immediate comment to The Post on the tactics.<\/p>\n<p>More than 15,000 nurses have been<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/12\/us-news\/thousands-of-nurses-go-on-strike-at-several-major-nyc-hospitals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> on strike against the major hospitals in the city since last Monday<\/a>, with some saying they are ready for the long haul.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow long are we willing to fight for? Until this hospital is willing to come to the table and have a fair conversation about this,\u201d said ICU\u00a0nurse Josh Wilson, 45, outside NY-Presbyterian\/Columbia University Medical Center on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI personally am willing to fight till the very end,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>ICU nurse Josh Wilson told The Post that he and his colleagues are willing to keep striking until the hospital is ready for a \u201cfair conversation\u201d about their demands. Matthew McDermott<\/p>\n<p>The hospitals and nurses are at odds over various issues, including pay, staffing levels and health-insurance benefits.<\/p>\n<p>About 1,000 nurses <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/15\/us-news\/no-end-in-sight-to-massive-nyc-nurses-strike-as-dispute-turns-bitter-leaving-patients-stuck-in-middle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">demonstrated outside NY-Presbyterian medical facilities<\/a> in the frigid temperatures with hand and foot warmers laid out on a table Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Cindy Collier, a 61-year-old nurse with Milstein Hospital in the system, said healthcare workers are stretched too thin and<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/18\/us-news\/mount-sinai-hospital-shoots-down-claims-that-patients-died-during-massive-nyc-nurses-strike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> patients are quick to blame them.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Milstein Hospital nurse Cindy Collier told The Post nurses are spread too thin in the hospital system. Matthew McDermott<\/p>\n<p>Mount Sinai CEO Brendan Carr said in an email to staff Monday, \u201cA near-term path to an agreement is very unlikely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I indicated when I last wrote to you, our negotiating teams met with NYSNA\u2019s negotiating teams on Friday. After little progress was made at either table, the mediators told the parties to break,\u201d he wrote, adding no additional meetings are scheduled for now. <\/p>\n<p>Montefiore said Monday that \u201cprogress overall will not be possible\u201d with the nurses until \u201cthey can back away from their reckless and dangerous $3.6 billion demands.<\/p>\n<p>The larges nurses strike in New York City history has reached its second week.
