After protesters recently amassed outside of City Hall to protest ICE earlier this month, another protest against the Trump administration is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday at San Antonio City Hall, according to organizers.<\/p>\n

The protest, organized by an array of progressive groups \u2014 including the anti-Trump 50501 Movement, the San Antonio chapter of the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), and San Antonio Students for Peace \u2014 is part of a \u201cnational day of action\u201d on the one-year anniversary of President Donald Trump\u2019s second inauguration.<\/p>\n

The groups plan to advocate for an end to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in San Antonio, an end to U.S. military intervention in Venezuela, and justice for Renee Good, the 37-year-old woman fatally shot by a masked ICE agent in Minneapolis earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Despite national tensions running high, organizers from the 50501 movement, in a Facebook post, reiterated their commitment to nonviolent forms of protest.<\/p>\n

\u201cWeapons are not permitted at any of our events,\u201d 50501 organizers said in a statement. \u201cOur mission is rooted in peaceful advocacy, and we will not allow any actions that could endanger our supporters, the public, or law enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n
