Nicola wore a custom Valentino Haute Couture gown for the ceremony, telling\u00a0Vogue<\/a>\u00a0at the time, “it was a no-brainer”\u00a0to go with the fashion house.<\/p>\n Speaking with Variety<\/a>\u00a0for a November 2022 feature story about Brooklyn, Nicola denied rumors of a feud with her mother-in-law<\/a> over the dress situation.<\/p>\n “I was going to [wear Victoria Beckham] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” said Nicola. “She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. But everyone gets along, which is good.”<\/p>\n In May 2025, however, a family insider told PEOPLE that Victoria did tell Nicola she was going to make her wedding dress, but allegedly later called Nicola’s mother to say she wouldn’t be making the dress after all<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Nicola was painted as a brat for not wearing Victoria Beckham at the wedding,” said the insider, noting that Nicola had worn Victoria’s designs to many events. “She’d gone to a ton of Victoria Beckham fashion shows and events in Victoria’s clothing.
