Every time a new manager comes to implement a fresh set of ideas, he needs immediate buy-in from players to make an impact. <\/strong><\/p>\n

For Michael Carrick<\/a>, that job was even more difficult because he had just three days to prepare for arguably the toughest fixture in English football. <\/p>\n

Not only did he do that to devastating effect, but reports are now emerging that he extracted instant buy-in from his squad. <\/p>\n

It was personified by Casemiro<\/a>, as Andy Mitten shares a key detail about what the Brazilian did in his first few training sessions under Carrick. <\/p>\n

Casemiro could be forgiven for feeling a bit down about Ruben Amorim\u2019s sacking<\/a> because he was one of the few players who owed their career renaissance to the Portuguese. <\/p>\n

The Brazilian is leaner and fitter than ever, gaining a second wind in his career<\/a> when everyone was chomping at the bit to write him off. <\/p>\n

His professionalism became an example for Amorim<\/a> to swear by, so getting buy-in from Casemiro was one of Carrick\u2019s first priorities. <\/p>\n

As it turns out, the Brazilian immediately showed Carrick why he has won so much at the top level, as he set the tone for training under the new manager.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Talk of the Devils podcast<\/a>, Andy Mitten shared that Casemiro was particularly \u2018outstanding\u2019 in training in the lead-up to the derby.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI am told that Casemiro was outstanding in training last week. We saw that on Saturday [Manchester Derby]. We can argue who the best player was during the game, but he was absolutely among the top two or top three.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichael Carrick went to basics with a lot of stuff. Multiple sources told me last week that the training was good, and the mood was good going into the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael Carrick deserves as much credit as Casemiro<\/p>\n

Casemiro deserves immense credit for not letting his head drop and picking up from where he left off under Amorim.<\/p>\n

Having said that, it is to Carrick\u2019s credit that he warmed up quickly to his players and convinced them of his methods. <\/p>\n

A player like Casemiro, who has worked under some of the best managers in world football, would have instantly recognised if Carrick wasn\u2019t up to the task.<\/p>\n

The fact that Carrick commanded respect from such a playing legend from his very first training session is as much a credit to Carrick\u2019s know-how as it is to Casemiro\u2019s professionalism.<\/p>\n
