The 2025-26 season appears to be unraveling fast for the New York Knicks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now closer to the Play-In Tournament than the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Knicks have lost nine of their past 11 games. The situation may have reached a nadir on Monday night, when the shorthanded Dallas Mavericks<\/a> stormed Madison Square Garden and left with a 114-97 victory.<\/p>\n

“You spend $140 to represent your favorite player with a jersey. You come to MLK Day here at The Garden and tickets are three times the price,” forward Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a> said after the loss to the Mavs. “I’d be disappointed, too. The fans are doing their part, now we’ve got to do our part.<\/p>\n

The Knicks on Tuesday decided to do something. The franchise reportedly is signing small forward Dillon Jones, an NBA champion last season, to a two-way contract.<\/p>\n

Jones, the 26th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, was traded from the Washington Wizards<\/a> to the Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a> on draft night.<\/p>\n

The Weber State product went on to make 54 appearances during the 2024-25 season, in which he averaged 2.5 points and 2.2 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game.<\/p>\n

He made a further 10 appearances in the playoffs as the Thunder won the championship.<\/p>\n

Only time will tell with that championship-winning drive and experience will help Towns, Jalen Brunson and the Knicks as they seek their first title since 1973.<\/p>\n
