\n\tUPDATED: <\/strong>Donald Trump<\/a> appeared in the White House Briefing Room on Tuesday for a marathon session to outline his accomplishments marking one year in office.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter nearly 80 minutes of speaking, the president took questions, including ones having to do with his threats to impose tariffs \u2014 while not ruling out military action \u2014 to take over Greenland<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHow far are you willing to go to acquire Greenland?\u201d one reporter asked him.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou\u2019ll find out,\u201d Trump said, a bit cryptically.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnalysts have warned that a U.S. takeover of Greenland would shatter the NATO alliance, while some European leaders have started to speak out on the president\u2019s threats.<\/p>\n

\n\tToward the end of the briefing, which lasted more than 100 minutes, Trump was a little less combative toward Greenland, telling reporters, \u201cI think that we will work something out where NATO is going to be very happy and where we\u2019re going to be very happy. But we need it for security purposes. We need it for national security and even world security. It\u2019s very important.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAsked about Greenland residents who have said that they do not want U.S. rule, Trump said, \u201cWhen I speak to them, I\u2019m sure they will be thrilled.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump spent the first part of the session trying to counter images of ICE raids in Minneapolis, pointing to specific criminal suspects who have been apprehended, and touted the economy.<\/p>\n

\n\tPolls show Trump underwater on approval of some of his signature issues, including immigration and the economy. At the briefing, he seemed to acknowledge that, touting the economy but telling reporters that \u201cmaybe I have bad public relations people, but we\u2019re not getting it across.\u201d He said that he didn\u2019t actually like doing the briefing, but \u201cI do it because we have to get the word out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAsked whether Americans were wrong to still feel the pain of high prices, Trump said, \u201cA lot of people are listening to the fake news a little bit. And I\u2019m not blaming anybody. I think I blame ourselves. I think we\u2019ve done a much better job than we\u2019re able to promote. We\u2019re not promoting. We\u2019re doing a great job, and we\u2019re sort of letting the promotion take care of itself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA CNN anchor remarked that Trump seemed \u201clow energy\u201d during much of the two hours, in which he covered many topics, often with asides that have been known as Trump\u2019s \u201cweave.\u201d But he also meandered from ICE to the economy and back to ICE again. As he showed photos of alleged criminals, he told reporters, \u201cYou\u2019re not getting bored with this, right? I hope you are not.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAt another point, Trump cited as one of his accomplishments the stripping of federal funding from \u201cwoke and biased\u201d NPR and PBS. \u201cI guess I heard they\u2019re closed up,\u201d Trump said. They are still in business.<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump also defended his attack on Norway, made in a message to its prime minister, Jonas Gahr St\u00f8re, over the Nobel committee\u2019s failure to award him their peace prize. In the message, Trump had written that because he didn\u2019t get the prize, he \u201cno longer\u201d had \u201can obligation to think purely of peace, although it will always be predominant.\u201d St\u00f8re said that Norway does not control who gets the prizes.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDon\u2019t let anyone tell you that Norway doesn\u2019t control the shots, okay?\u201d Trump said. \u201cIt\u2019s in Norway.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tUPDATE: <\/strong>PBS responded with a statement, noting that despite layoffs and programming cancellations, they are still on the air.<\/p>\n
