{"id":53222,"date":"2025-07-10T04:47:12","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T04:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/53222\/"},"modified":"2025-07-10T04:47:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T04:47:12","slug":"socal-cult-fave-robertos-taco-shop-makes-dfw-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/53222\/","title":{"rendered":"SoCal cult fave Roberto&#8217;s Taco Shop makes DFW debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A venerable California taco shop is coming to Dallas-Fort Worth: Called <a href=\"https:\/\/robertostacoshop.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Roberto\u2019s Taco Shop #5<\/a>, it&#8217;s a family-owned chain founded in San Diego, which will open its first DFW location in Bedford, in the former Burger Street space at 2902 SH-121.<\/p>\n<p>According to the owner, it&#8217;s set to open in late July.<\/p>\n<p>Roberto\u2019s was founded by namesake Roberto and Dolores Robledo in San Diego in 1964. The couple started with a tortilleria before opening what they call \u201cSan Diego\u2019s first walk-up and drive-thru taco shop.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The couple&#8217;s son, Jose Robledo, is the current owner, leading the company&#8217;s expansion, after spending 36 years in the family business. There are 80 <a href=\"https:\/\/robertostacoshop.com\/locations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">locations<\/a> in Nevada, California, and Texas.<\/p>\n<p>The Bedford location is the fourth in Texas, following two in Lubbock and one in Waco, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C4Qj4tduqn_\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">opened<\/a> in March 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant specializes in Southern California-style Mexican food, which is different from Tex-Mex.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe stand out for our unique style, fresh ingredients, and California flavors,\u201d Jose says. \u201cAdditionally, we\u2019d like to emphasize that we don\u2019t serve fajitas, nacho cheese sauce, or chips &amp; salsa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/robertostacoshop.com\/menu\/#1563537284192-80f98152-8179aa41-93b92ba2-85f0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">menu<\/a> features combo plates and specials such as:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ee-ul\">\n<li>soft and crispy tacos with steak, chicken, shrimp, or fish<\/li>\n<li>crispy rolled tacos<\/li>\n<li>tostadas on a flat crispy shell topped with meat, beans, lettuce, and cheese<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are breakfast burritos, tortas with shredded beef, tamales, and shrimp in diablo sauce, plus they have cinnamon sugar churros for dessert.<\/p>\n<p>There are combo plates for $11.40, but everything on the menu is under $20.<\/p>\n<p>The space is small, so there will be limited seating, though they promise there will be plenty of outdoor seating.<\/p>\n<p>Jose says that they&#8217;ve welcomed customers from all over Texas and beyond at their current three locations, and Dallas-Fort Worth will be yet more accessible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBedford is centrally located and close to DFW Airport,\u201d Jose says. \u201cWe have customers in Waco, from as far away as Denton, Fort Worth, Austin, and College Station.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A venerable California taco shop is coming to Dallas-Fort Worth: Called Roberto\u2019s Taco Shop #5, it&#8217;s a family-owned&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":53223,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5138],"tags":[5229,7371,7372,10084,13963,358,3187,67,586,132,5230,68,2969],"class_list":{"0":"post-53222","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-fort-worth","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-fort-worth","10":"tag-fortworth","11":"tag-openings","12":"tag-tacos","13":"tag-texas","14":"tag-tx","15":"tag-united-states","16":"tag-united-states-of-america","17":"tag-unitedstates","18":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","19":"tag-us","20":"tag-usa"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@us\/114827129837622745","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/53222","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=53222"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/53222\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/53223"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=53222"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=53222"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=53222"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
