ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 St. Johns County<\/a> Administrator Joy Andrews told the Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday that the county completed 61 capital improvement projects in 2025 and has 59 additional projects scheduled to begin construction or reach final completion in 2026, representing more than $820 million in infrastructure investment.<\/p>\n

The projects cover public facilities, public safety, parks and libraries, roadway improvements, utilities, land acquisition, coastal resiliency and technology. County officials said the work advances all six priorities in the county\u2019s strategic plan: infrastructure, organizational excellence, community trust, community well\u2011being, economic prosperity and enhanced conservation.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s presentation is a snapshot of the scale, complexity and momentum of infrastructure delivery in St. Johns County,\u201d Andrews said. She thanked the board for its \u201cvision and leadership\u201d and said the projects will benefit current residents and future generations.<\/p>\n

Andrews highlighted the role of the county\u2019s Infrastructure Delivery Team and the Capital Improvement Program oversight structure in keeping projects within approved scope and budget, prioritizing investments with data\u2011driven modeling and maintaining transparency and accountability through planning and delivery. <\/p>\n

She said the county\u2019s infrastructure strategy uses a diversified funding approach \u2014 including grants, state and federal appropriations, developer contributions, impact fees and debt proceeds \u2014 to address growth demands while reducing reliance on property taxes.<\/p>\n

County leaders also recognized the extensive coordination required among county departments, constitutional offices and external partners to deliver large\u2011scale projects that support public safety, mobility, water resources, environmental stewardship and quality of life.<\/p>\n
