Kate Beckinsale teared up while singing to her mom, Judy Loe, in the hospital after hinting at a \u201cdeeply painful\u201d situation that led to her dramatic weight loss<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The actress took to Instagram<\/a> Wednesday to share a video of herself emotionally singing The Everly Brothers\u2019 1958 hit \u201cBye, Bye Love,\u201d in honor of a harmony group that Loe, 78, used to be in with her best friends \u2014 Mary, Sylvia and Chris \u2014 when they were 14 years old.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am a very poor substitute not being a very good singer,\u201d she captioned the clip. \u201cBut I want my mum\u2019s dearest and oldest friends in her hospital room with her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cUnderworld\u201d star took to Instagram to share the emotional clip of herself singing The Everly Brothers\u2019 1958 hit \u201cBye, Bye Love.\u201d Instagram\/@katebeckinsale<\/p>\n

\u201c[Sylvia] and Chris, please know I\u2019m trying to keep the Four Teens going as best as I can from a distance and I love you both,\u201d Beckinsale, 51, added.<\/p>\n

The \u201cUnderworld\u201d star thanked Loe\u2019s friends for the \u201csupport and love\u201d they\u2019ve been sending.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a mark of my mother\u2019s extraordinary capacity for love and deep respect for relationship history that her friendships with her early school friends are still so very current,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

The actress shared she chose the song to honor the harmony group her mom used to be in with her three close friends. Instagram\/@katebeckinsale<\/p>\n

\u201cLove you all but most especially my mum,\u201d Beckinsale concluded, apologizing to \u201canybody in the hospital subject to [her] dreadful singing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cSerendipity\u201d star didn\u2019t disclose the details of Loe\u2019s hospital stay, but Beckinsale revealed last year that her mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.<\/p>\n

In February, Beckinsale asked her followers to say a \u201cspare prayer\u201d for her mom via Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At the time, she had shared a photo dump of herself sporting several bikinis when netizens commented, \u201cYou don\u2019t look good. I think you honestly need help,\u201d and \u201cOh sweetheart, I honestly think you have a problem!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Beckinsale clapped back, writing, \u201cYes, I do. I\u2019m going through one of the most deeply painful times of my life. The body keeps the score.\u201d<\/p>\n
