These one-time checks are similar to the stimulus checks many people received during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The money comes from sales tax revenue collected by the state, and it\u2019ll be up to 400 dollars, depending on several factors.<\/p>\n<p>Refund amounts are based on your 2023 New York Adjusted Gross Income (Form IT-201 line 33).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Single<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>$75,000 or less: $200<\/p>\n<p>more than $75,000, but not more than $150,000:$150<\/p>\n<p><strong>Married filing joint<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>$150,000 or less: $400<\/p>\n<p>More than $150,000, but not more than $300,000: $300<\/p>\n<p><strong>Married filing separate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>$75,000 or less: $200<\/p>\n<p>More than $75,000, but not more than $150,000: $150<\/p>\n<p><strong>Head of household<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>$75,000 or less: $200<\/p>\n<p>More than $75,000, but not more than $150,000: $150<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualified surviving spouse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>$150,000 or less: $400<\/p>\n<p>More than $150,000, but not more than $300,000: $300<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cnycentral.com\/news\/local\/state-police-dress-as-dot-workers-to-catch-violating-drivers-operation-hard-hat-driving-safety#\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/cnycentral.com\/news\/local\/state-police-dress-as-dot-workers-to-catch-violating-drivers-operation-hard-hat-driving-safety#\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"noopener\">More:State Police dress up as members of the Dept. of Transportation for &#8216;Operation Hardhat&#8217;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>New York state will be mailing checks, even to those who have their tax returns deposited electronically. More than 8 million people will receive these checks.
