{"id":533567,"date":"2026-01-22T02:32:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-22T02:32:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/533567\/"},"modified":"2026-01-22T02:32:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T02:32:14","slug":"fees-increased-at-watertowns-thompson-park-golf-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/533567\/","title":{"rendered":"Fees increased at Watertown\u2019s Thompson Park Golf Course"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) &#8211; It\u2019ll cost more to tee up at the Thompson Park Golf Course come spring.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In a 3-2 vote Tuesday night, Watertown City Council approved the fee changes for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Season passes have increased by $25 to $50 depending on the pass.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For example, a city resident over the age of 22 will pay $825 for a season pass, up from $800 last season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Non-city residents over 22 will go from $875 to $900.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Greens fees will go up $2 to $3.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Council Members Ben Shoen and Doug Osborne voted against increasing the fees, with Osborne arguing it \u201csends a bad message.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI think it just comes across as more exclusive than a municipal course, where it\u2019s open to the general public. I\u2019d like to see volume of people come in and play. I just think this will end up hindering that at the end of the day,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The golf course lost around $120,000 this past season, which was not as much as the previous two years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 WWNY.
