Eight years after his first day at TestFit<\/strong>\u2014a Dallas-based real estate development feasibility platform that\u2019s helped clients\u00a0speed up site planning<\/a> by as much as 10 times\u2014Harness\u00a0<\/strong>took to LinkedIn to share \u201c8 things about founders.\u201d His insights include \u201cWe will work 80 hours a week for fun\u201d; \u201cWe will not accept defeat, even at a 97% casualty rate\u201d; and \u201cMotivation is our own. No carrot. No stick. Just manic intent.\u201d<\/p>\n TestFit\u2019s co-founders, including CTO Ryan Griege<\/strong>, displayed their own manic intent in 2022 when they landed a $20 million Series A round<\/a> with San Francisco\u2019s Prologis<\/strong>, a global real estate logistics leader, as one of their investors. Then they made Prologis one of their key clients<\/a> by deploying TestFit\u2019s real-time AI platform to help the company better judge the feasibility of new warehouse sites.<\/p>\n In 2023, TestFit snagged Startup of the Year<\/a> honors at the Venture Dallas Summit<\/strong>. The Early Stage arena spotlights companies with up to $1 million in revenue, while the Growth\u2026<\/p>\n<\/li>\n UT Dallas researcher Dr. Walter Voit transformed Minecraft\u2019s 170-million-player universe into an advanced virtual training ground\u2014for students and for AI agents tested by DARPA. His team\u2019s Polycraft World uses gameplay to turn classroom theory into real-world expertise, covering topics from synthetic organic chemistry to nuclear plants to semiconductor facilities. Their new startup company, Pedegree Studios, has licensed the core technologies from the university to create a scalable digital pipeline for education and workforce development.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Combining cutting-edge research and real-world applications, the UT Dallas professor transforms public health with innovations in detection technology, including \u201ca check engine light\u201d for the human body. In collaboration with EnLiSense, the company she cofounded, Dr. Prasad combines chemistry with software and hardware to bring the technology to life as market-ready devices.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n The southern half of Dallas County is home to just over 1.05 million residents. That\u2019s about 40% of the total number of people who call Dallas County home\u2014and roughly 200,000 more than the entire population of San Francisco.
