CHICAGO<\/strong> – As many of us turn our focus to Friday\u2019s extreme cold, some people first had to deal with another round of snow Thursday morning.<\/p>\n What we know:<\/p>\n In Gurnee<\/a>, it was a beautiful sight \u2014 snow-covered trees and rooftops \u2014 but with snow on the ground for several days now, crews and homeowners alike have been kept busy. Plows were out early along Grand Avenue, clearing more than two inches of fresh snow from the roads.<\/p>\n The Chicago area has now seen snow nine days in a row, and next comes the extreme cold.<\/p>\n One landscaper heading to work said he\u2019s had enough.<\/p>\n CLICK HERE FOR THE LATEST CHICAGO AREA SCHOOL CLOSINGS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n “I hate it \u2014 yeah, I do. At my age, I should just be in Florida,” said Dennis Ross.<\/p>\n So how is he preparing for Friday?<\/p>\n “Tomorrow,” he said with a smirk, “I\u2019m preparing to stay in \u2014 the heat.”<\/p>\n On Acorn Court, homeowners were shoveling in the dark, clearing driveways and sidewalks to make sure the job got done in time.<\/p>\n “I got boots and PJs \u2014 and just started shoveling,” said Jimmy Ayala, who was indeed wearing pajama bottoms.<\/p>\n His plan for Friday? “Try to call off work,” Ayala said, laughing.<\/p>\n His neighbor, Rose Wysocki, said she has done a lot of shoveling this winter.<\/p>\n “Yes, and I\u2019m tired of it. But you know, it\u2019s gotta be done,” she said.<\/p>\n Wysocki said she was ready for the task.<\/p>\n “I have two pairs of gloves, I have a jacket, plus a sweatshirt with a hoodie.
