Jordan McGraw<\/strong>, the son of TV personality Dr. Phil<\/strong>, has been sued by New York City<\/strong> over a pro-police reality show. Court documents reveal that McGraw reached a deal with Eric Adams, the city\u2019s former mayor, to make a show, Behind the Badge<\/strong>. The city seeks a court order to block the distribution of the series ahead of its release.<\/p>\n

New report claims that court documents say Jordan McGraw has been sued by New York City<\/p>\n

According to the complaint filed on Wednesday in New York state court, New York City has sued Jordan McGraw, the son of famous television personality Dr. Phil<\/a>, over his new series, Behind the Badge (via Entertainment Weekly<\/a>). The show, sanctioned via a deal with Eric Adams, the city\u2019s former mayor, in April 2025, promises to give \u201cexclusive access to film NYPD operations\u201d to \u201chighlight\u201d the department\u2019s \u201cextraordinary work.\u201d<\/p>\n

The contract obligations reportedly included a key point. The point allowed the city to review the footage before release, as well as prohibit certain scenes and details from airing. The lawsuit claims that McGraw and his company have disregarded that obligation, \u201crisking immediate and irreparable harm to the city, its employees, and the public at large.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lawsuit aims to block the release of the show.<\/p>\n

The problems reportedly arose in December, when city officials reportedly got a glimpse at four episodes from the series. They flagged some content, but McGraw did not remove it. Instead, McGraw and his company pressed on for distribution.<\/p>\n

The complaint further claimed that the city had \u201cexclusive\u201d rights to make decisions on suitable cuts. They cited reasons that range from \u201cinaccurate\u201d to \u201cconfidential.\u201d The complaint added that one episode poses an \u201cimminent threat\u201d to officers\u2019 lives by not properly obscuring the names, faces, and identities of undercover and plainclothes officers.<\/p>\n

McGraw is still reportedly seeking to distribute the series. More details about the case should arrive soon.<\/p>\n
