{"id":53710,"date":"2025-07-10T09:05:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T09:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/53710\/"},"modified":"2025-07-10T09:05:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T09:05:09","slug":"one-dead-after-pedestrians-struck-by-vehicle-in-wantirna-south-in-melbournes-east","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/53710\/","title":{"rendered":"One dead after pedestrians struck by vehicle in Wantirna South in Melbourne&#8217;s east"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">A woman has died and two others, including a toddler, are in a critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Melbourne&#8217;s east.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Emergency crews were at the scene of the crash on Coleman Road in the suburb of Wantirna South on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Superintendent Justin Goldsmith said a woman and man, believed to be aged between 30 and 40, were walking on the footpath with a young boy when the car struck them from behind.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The woman died at the scene and the man and child were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;It&#8217;s an absolute tragedy,&#8221; Superintendent Goldsmith said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"EmphasisedText_quote__TE6kn\"><p>&#8220;Unfortunately we&#8217;re facing a horrific month for road trauma.
